Transport policy and railway timetabling

Jonathan Tyler will be presenting a paper at the European Transport Conference in The Netherlands on 5 October entitled Transport policy and railway timetabling : taking the connection seriously.  The paper brings together his research on timetabling philosophies and practice and presents the case for a National Timetabling Authority.  It also discusses the role of the railway in a resource-constrained future and questions the growing mania for high-speed lines.
